| Hello All, Our next meeting will be Friday, April 20th. We will actually be half-way through our study! For those who will be catching up on the study, I’d like to recommend reading trough once or twice before as our group has found the material to be denser than was expected. That being said, it is not necessary as we are all working through together. For anyone who is still interested: the weekend of April 27th-29th we will be camping. This is due to the postponement of March’s trip. However, instead of heading towards Tucson, we’ll be headed north due to the warm weather. If anyone has any preferences, such as Oak Creek Canyon or Lake Mary, or you’re planning on attending let me know. For our April event, I’d like to encourage everyone to attend the Easter breakfast this Sunday at RLC. The proceeds go to helping send the youth on their summer trip. Owen and I will be attending prior to the 10:40 service and would appreciate any company! If you have any questions or need anything else you can send them to our new email address: 20s30sRLC@gmail.com. Hope to see everyone the 20th, and have a super week!! Jessica Leiser | | |
| Thanks to everyone who made it last month as we began our new study! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you there again on Friday, March 16th as we continue our course on grace and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The fun starts at 7:00pm where there will be hot dogs, and everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish or drink. We will also be hosting a camping trip March 30-April 1st at Catalina State Park for all 20s and 30s who would like to join us. More information about the park can be found at: http://www.pr.state.az.us/Parks/parkhtml/catalina.html. Owen and I will be leaving town early that Friday evening if anyone would like to carpool with us. You can also come or go at anytime that fits with your schedule. Overnight parking is $6.00 a car, so I do encourage carpooling. Owen and I will also be bringing snacks for everyone, but if you want us to bring enough for you to share the same meal, let me know so I can pick up enough groceries. This promises to be an awesome trip as we get away for some cooler weather, hiking, card games, and plenty of fun! I hope everyone can make it! | | |
| This Friday will be the start of our new study, and I hope that everyone is looking forward to our kick-off. There will be spaghetti provided and everyone is encouraged to bring a side dish or desert, but it is certainly not required. Since tomorrow is statehood day . . .er . . .I mean Valentine's day, we'll be sure to have an appropriately themed cake too For those who will be attending, I'd like everyone to begin thinking of an activity they'd like to add to our schedule, it can be service-oriented such as a food drive, or just something fun such as a camping trip. I'd like to begin adding one activity a month to participate in. Each month we'll be selecting the next month's activity, so I'll have a couple of ideas for March when we gather on Friday, that we'll discuss along with any ideas that others would like to share and we'll pick together. As always, anyone interested in joining us can send an email to 20s30sRLC@gmail.com Thanks! | | |
| Starting February 16th we will be beginning a six session discussion on grace and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. You can read about the book we are using here: http://berean.com/be/item_9780830820849.htm and even get a copy of your very own if you will be joining us. As always, everyone is welcome! | | |
| Hi everyone! This Friday we will be the start of the New Year for the 20s and 30s group at Resurrection. If you'd like more information about attending you can send an email to 20s30sRLC@gmail.com Here is a list of the studies we will be choosing from this Friday. Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Costly Grace- A 6 week study about grace, suffering, and the christian community. You can see it here: http://berean.com/be/item_0830820841.htm Martin Luther: Righteous Faith- A 6 week study about faith, sin, and the person of God. You can see it here: http://berean.com/be/item_083082085X.htm Community: Building Relationships within God's Family- A 6 week study about christian community. You can see it here: http://berean.com/be/item_0310265916.htm Jesus A New Vision, by Marcus Borg. This is a traditional book that will require reading a chapter a month at home and following up with discussion questions during out gathering. You can see it here: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780060608149&itm=21 The Brother of Jesus, by Jeffrey Butx. This is also a traditional book that will require reading a chapter a month at home and folling up with discussion questions in our group setting. You can find it here: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781594770432&itm=1 And last but not least, The Conflicting Realities of Christianity, which is a collection of chapters from different christian authors addressing their views on controversial topics within christianity such as evolution, and the virgin birth. This study would require reading two shorter chapters at home and answering study questions prior to group discussion meetings. Unfortunately, I do not have a link to share, but I will have a copy for you to look through on Friday. Please take some time to gather any thoughts you may have and come prepared to look over our options and make a group decision about what we will be starting. Peace
